ABOUT
Ilia (Ioulia) Voulgari is a Greek-Luxembourgish architect based in Luxembourg with an interest in public architecture, adaptive reuse of buildings and innovative approaches to the built environment.
She has an extensive educational background, having studied at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, the Academy of Architecture of Mendrisio in Switzerland, and the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture in Versailles. She obtained her Master’s degree in Architecture from the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow.
Ilia has gathered diverse professional experience, having worked with Civic Architects in Amsterdam and Paul Bretz Architects in Luxembourg. Her projects have included designing public buildings, museums, universities, offices, and engaging in reuse and redevelopment projects.
Currently, she is working at Metaform Architects in Luxembourg, where she is involved, among other, in international competitions and a major public project in the city of Luxembourg. She serves on the board of April Initiative, a non-profit think tank promoting cross-disciplinary dialogue among professionals shaping the future of the built environment. Additionally, she is a board member of the Young Planners of OAI in Luxembourg and represents the Luxembourgish team at EASA (European Architecture Student Assembly) Luxembourg.
With dedication and curiosity for architecture, Ilia is a founding member and involved in various initiatives and workshops in Europe that challenge and push the boundaries of architectural practice.
